This impressive centerpiece stands an impressive 51 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Thanks to the heavy casting of high-quality solid brass, the altar candlestick weighs no less than 2.5 kilograms. The sturdy, weighted round base ensures perfect stability. The design is characterized by the atmospherically curved arms decorated with elegant scroll details (volutes). The five candle holders are fitted with the characteristic thick pins (studs), specifically designed to securely hold heavy altar candles or pillar candles in place. The altar candlestick has, over the years, developed a splendid, well-aged dark patina, which gives the object its authentic appearance. The piece has been fully tested (non-magnetic), which guarantees the pure, solid quality of the brass. Construction & Age: The interior of the base shows an authentic, traditional construction with a characteristic square nut and coarse thread. This type of joint, together with the heavy casting and the thick pins, testifies to an honest age and places this altar candlestick in the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1850–1920). A guaranteed original antique object and a beautiful testament to historic craftsmanship. Thanks to its shallow depth of 15 cm, this altar candlestick is excellently suited for a prominent place on a mantelpiece, sideboard, sidetable, or as a atmospheric centerpiece on a festively laid table. An absolute eye-catcher for classical, eclectic, or modern auction interiors.
