Candlestick - Bronze, Brass

This pair of antique copper or bronze candelabra is executed in a richly decorated Baroque or Rococo style. This specific model is often characterized as an altar- or church candle holder due to the sturdy, stable three-legged foot and the central pin (pricket) where the candle is fixed. Features & Style • Decoration: The candelabra are adorned with classic neo-Baroque motifs, including acanthus leaves, graceful scrollwork (volutes), and Rocaille or shell motifs. • Dating & Origin: This type of casting was predominantly produced in the late 19th century (around 1880). They were manufactured on a large scale in countries such as France, Belgium and Italy for religious or elegant domestic use. • Material: Made of solid brass or bronze, finished with a dark, atmospheric patina layer that accentuates the deeper details.
