Candlestick - Wood - Antique wooden torchiere.

Carved and lacquered wooden torchère, probably late 19th century, later electrified and converted into a table lamp. The shaft, green/black and ochre in color, features an elegant turning with baluster elements and carved leaf motifs. It has been completely restored in a conservative style, and the visible wormholes are no longer active after fumigation in a gas chamber. The finish is typical of decorative furniture in a neoclassical or revived Baroque style. The shaped triangular base suggests that it was originally a torchère or altar/salon candlestick. The mustard-yellow silk lampshade, pleated with a passementerie border, is new and well matched to the object's style. The electrical installation is fully functional. Total height including the lampshade: 66 cm. Height of the torchère: 46 cm.
