Lo 046 is the first ten-cylinder Formula 1 engine used by Ferrari in the premier series, and also the first ten-cylinder ever built by the Cavallino Rampante. The piston and connecting rod proposed, according to unofficial information from GES Ferrari, were mounted on Eddie Irvine's car. The component is housed in a display case illuminated by LED lights.
