Beautiful Leshki Kazak. Around 1920. This pattern with the stars is characteristic of the village Leski. It lies in the mountains to the north of Adzerbazjan in the Kuba region. Beautiful full wool with a high pile! In very good condition. Attractive abrash in the wool. Rare Bordeaux-red color in the main border with a velvety sheen. The three stars stand out clearly on the dark indigo-blue background. Natural plant-based dyes used. Not recently washed is also not needed, it is clean. Also see the head ends; those wide kelim-woven borders. That is called a beard. Beautiful color scheme in this rug.
