Cauny - Prima Jumbo Antimagnetic - No reserve price - 43...

Cauny Prima Jumbo Antimagnetic – 16 Jewels – Small Seconds – 37.7 mm – Swiss Made – 1950s Vintage Cauny Prima Swiss mechanical wristwatch from the 1950s, featuring an attractive finely textured silver dial, applied gold-tone hour markers and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. With a case diameter of approximately 37.7 mm excluding the crown, this is a generously sized vintage Cauny, giving it considerably more wrist presence than many dress watches of the period. --- DIAL & DESIGN * Original-style silver-tone dial with an elaborate radial textured finish * Applied gold-tone Cauny signature * Applied gold-tone baton hour markers * Gold-tone dauphine-style hands * Small seconds register at 6 o’clock * “Antimagnetic” inscription * “La Chaux-de-Fonds” inscription * “Swiss Made” at 6 o’clock * Attractive classic mid-century Swiss design The dial shows some light age-related patina and small marks visible under close inspection, consistent with the vintage character of the watch. The textured finish remains particularly attractive and gives the dial considerable depth depending on the light. --- MOVEMENT * Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement * Signed “Cauny Prima” * 16 jewels * Swiss made * Antimagnetic * Small seconds The movement is photographed and forms part of the description. The watch is currently functioning perfectly. Winding, time setting and running have been checked prior to sale. --- CASE * Approx. 37.7 mm diameter excluding crown * Approx. 39.4 mm including crown * Gold-tone case * Stainless-steel case back * Signed Cauny Prima case back * Reference / markings: 43 375 / 750 * “Fond Acier Inoxydable” * “Antimagnetique” * “Swiss Made” The case presents normal signs of use and age, including surface marks and some wear to the gold-tone finish, particularly around exposed edges and lugs. These signs are consistent with a vintage watch of this period and do not detract significantly from its attractive overall appearance on the wrist. --- STRAP * Brown leather-style strap * Gold-tone pin buckle * 18 mm lug width * Strap is a later replacement and complements the warm tones of the watch --- CONDITION Condition: Very good vintage condition. The watch retains a very attractive overall presentation. As expected from a vintage piece of this age, there are some signs of previous use and natural ageing to the case, dial and exterior surfaces. Please examine the detailed photographs, which form an important part of the description and show the actual condition of the watch. --- PERIOD 1950s. --- A particularly attractive oversized Cauny Prima from the classic era of Swiss mechanical watchmaking. Its 37.7 mm case, finely textured radial dial, applied gold-tone details, subsidiary seconds and signed 16-jewel hand-wound movement make it an appealing example of the larger Cauny dress watches of the period. Watch only. No original box or papers. Shipped fully insured, tracked, and signature-required worldwide.
