CC-3. Continental Currency. May 10, 1775. $3. PCGS Banknote About

CC-3. Continental Currency. May 10, 1775. $3. PCGS Banknote About Uncirculated 50. No. 38650. Signed by Thomas Barton, Jr. and Samuel Morris. Rounded vignette of an eagle and heron fighting at right with a skeletonized leaf on the back with the Hall & Sellers imprint seen below just above the top margin. Latin motto "EXITUS IN DUBIO EST" on face encircling the rounded vignette which Newman translates "The Outcome is in Doubt." In all, this is a really scarce example at this grade level with both services having graded only a handful of examples comparable to this grade level. To that end, in our Summer 2026 Global Showcase Auction we sold an example graded About Uncirculated 53 EPQ by PMG (Lot 93005) for barely a hair over $1,700 by the time bidding had ended. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
