Chair (2) - Wood

Pair of Bentwood Thonet-Style Chairs – Late 19th / Early 20th Century Enchanting pair of antique chairs in bentwood Thonet style, characterized by the classic double-arch backrest and the traditional round seat in woven Vienna straw. The pieces feature different finishes, one black ebonized and the other in a warm reddish-brown tone, a testament to their conservation history and the charm of the era. The frame, crafted according to the famous steam-bent wood technique, expresses the elegance and lightness of Central European production from the late 19th century to the early decades of the 20th century. On the reddish-brown chair, traces of original production labels and marks are still present, a further element of historical and collectible interest. **Conditions to be reviewed**: both chairs show wear to the finishes, abrasions, signs of time, and require conservational work and restoration, as visible in the photographs. The Vienna straw appears present but requires verification and revision. An interesting pair for restorers, collectors, and enthusiasts of Thonet design and historical modernism.
