Chair (4) - Wood

Chiavari chairs were born in 1807 in Chiavari, Liguria, when the cabinetmaker Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi created this iconic design characterized by elegant lines and structural lightness. This model features the pierced backrest typical of the Umbertine style, with decorative turned elements and a seat woven in cane, elements that became popular in Italian production in the mid-20th century. These chairs represent a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetic refinement, embodying the excellence of Italian furniture craftsmanship. Chiavari chairs are highly appreciated by collectors of Italian vintage furniture and by mid-century design enthusiasts for their timeless elegance and build quality. These pieces are particularly sought after by interior designers and owners of historic houses who wish to furnish with authentic postwar Italian furniture. Their versatility makes them perfect for both classic settings and more contemporary contexts, where they add a touch of history and artisanal refinement.
