All auctions / Miscellaneous / Chair - Steel - Rare example of a vintage transit chair/sedan chair
Rare antique transit chair/stretcher from the era, produced in Italy in the 1960s/70s by the historic brand C. Blandino Torino (now New Blandino). The object represents an excellent example of twentieth-century industrial and medical design, characterized by a sober aesthetic and high build quality: Structure: solid tubular steel frame with a chrome finish Seat and backrest: original upholstery in brown faux leather in a caldron color, attached with visible metal studs well preserved Footrest: reclining platform in period plastic material accented by the raised brand and the original logo "C. Blandino Torino" Wheels: rear pair with spoke rims and solid rubber, accompanied by swiveling front caster wheels for maneuvering. The item is in generally good conservation condition. It presents a beautiful period component with slight traces of oxidation on the metal parts and light signs of time that attest its authenticity and history, with mechanisms and coverings well preserved. Advice: perfect as a collectible piece for modern antiques and medical vintage enthusiasts, a visually striking decor element for industrial-style interiors, lofts, showrooms, or as a prop/scenery for photographic, theatrical, and cinematic sets.
