Beautiful antique Victorian chaise longue / meridienne – Professionally reupholstered Offered is an extraordinarily elegant and high-quality Victorian chaise longue (also known as a meridienne) from the second half of the 19th century (circa 1870-1890). This piece embodies pure class and craftsmanship from the Victorian era and is an absolute focal piece in both a classic and a modern eclectic interior. Features & Condition: • Frame: The asymmetrical, hand-carved frame is made of solid wood (likely mahogany or walnut) and features refined woodcarving panels along the backrest. The frame is in solid, sturdy condition. • Legs: The authentic, turned wooden legs stand on the original brass/porcelain castors, which are still fully functional. • Upholstery: The chaise longue has been expertly and professionally reupholstered in the recent past. A high-quality, luxurious velvet/bluish-grey fabric has been chosen. The tufted backrest (button-back) has been restored with great attention to detail. The fabric is clean, free of stains or wear, and the springs/c padding offer firm and comfortable seating.
