Chanel J12 Moonphase H3406 – 38 mm – Black Ceramic – Aventurine Moon Phase The Chanel J12 Moonphase is one of the most distinctive complications within the iconic J12 collection, combining Chanel's unmistakable high-tech ceramic design with a poetic interpretation of the lunar cycle. Introduced in 2013, the reference H3406 features a 38 mm case crafted from Chanel's highly scratch-resistant black high-tech ceramic, combined with steel elements. Its black satin-finished dial is enhanced by an aventurine moon-phase counter at 6 o'clock, creating a deep blue, starry-sky effect. Rather than displaying the moon through a conventional aperture, Chanel uses a sparkling aventurine disc to display the four principal phases of the moon. A small polished steel serpentine hand travels across the disc to indicate the current lunar phase. The watch also features a distinctive central date hand, with a crescent-shaped tip pointing towards the date indications engraved around the outer flange. This unusual display gives the J12 Moonphase a particularly refined and recognizable appearance.
