Charles Fazzino (1955) - Strolling P-Town

Charles Fazzino original 3D work STROLLING P-TOWN Signed by hand & numbered Edition total only 125 copies (100 regular edition & 25 DX edition) Year of publication: 2008 Original certificate from Museum Edition Ltd Frame: approx. 23 x 32 x 3 cm Artwork: approx. 20 x 17.5 cm Main motif: approx. 12.5 x 10 cm Very good condition of the 3D piece. Newly framed in a simple wooden frame with a mat. Colorful, detailed, and with unmistakable humor, Charles Fazzino presents in “Strolling P-Town” a vibrant street scene from Provincetown (Cape Cod). Typical of Fazzino’s iconic 3D Pop Art, numerous elements protrude plastically, giving the work an extraordinary sense of depth. The scene features a charming coastal town with its characteristic buildings, cafés, delicatessens, and restaurants such as “Lobster Pot,” “Bubala’s,” or “Front Street Rest.” In the background, a lighthouse and a church spire rise as boats rock in the harbor. The scene is brought to life by pedestrians, dogs, and colorful pennant strings. Sparkling accents emphasize roofs, flags, and clouds, enhancing the three-dimensional effect. The work blends Fazzino’s typical architectural exaggeration with humorous details and a summery, light atmosphere. The multilayer hand-assembly and the vivid colors make each edition a lively eye-catcher. Charles Fazzino (born 02/26/1955, New York) is an American Pop Art artist and a pioneer of 3D Pop Art. He became internationally known for his hand-cut, multi-layered paper reliefs that, in bright colors and rich detail with playful ease, depict urban motifs — especially New York City. His works are exhibited worldwide and represented in numerous private as well as institutional collections. Pop art à la Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein.
