Holmes A superb and vibrant early 20th-century post-impressionist oil painting by the British artist Charles Holmes . This luminous summer scene depicts children bathing in the river Bollin at Styal (Cheshire, England), showcasing the artist's excellent mastery of water reflections and sun-drenched summer shadows. Housed in its original wooden frame. Board size : 50.5 / 61.5 cm Framed : 58cm / 68.5 cm Good condition with aged patina ,early 20 th century painting . A rare and highly desirable collector's piece. Artworks by this Manchester School artist are scarce on the open market, as most reside in British private estates or public collections like the Trafford Council. Signed oil paintings featuring animated bathing scenes of this scale and with their original numbered gallery labels are exceptionally difficult to find."
