Charles Honoré d’Albert, Duke of CHEVREUSE (until 1699) and later Duke of LUYNES (1646–1712), aristocrat and military officer, Governor of GUYENNE, advisor to LOUIS XIV. He married COLBERT’s daughter. Document signed on a certificate bearing his name and titles in the header. “The Duke of CHEVREUSE, Peer of France, Count of Montfort and Chasteaufort, Captain Lieutenant of the Company of 200 Light Cavalry of His Majesty’s (Louis XVI) Ordinary Guard.” Issued at VERSAILLES, April 11, 1689. We hereby certify that Jacques TUBERT, Squire, son of Madame de PORTMORT, is one of the 200 Light Cavalrymen of the said Company, and that he is currently serving at the Cornette… ” 1 page (17 x 22 cm), oblong. Wax seal bearing the coat of arms.
