Thus, important documents of Jewish liturgy and Jewish history have survived. The most famous Geniza is in Cairo and was discovered in 1890 during renovations of the Ben-Ezra Synagogue, built in 882. In a separate hollow space under the roof, accessible only by ladder, some 200,000 manuscripts dating from the year 800 were found, such as The Book of Wisdom (Old Testament) in Hebrew or the famous Damascus script, later also found at Qumran, marriage certificates and even letters that describe the siege of Jerusalem (Crusades) from a Jewish perspective. beautiful and rare Torah manuscript of the Old Testament from ancient Egypt, around 1350 on roe-hide I guarantee you the age and originality.
