Children playing. Goya School. 19th century.

Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 47 x 35 cm. A children’s scene with a traditionalist character, featuring several children playing on a wooden structure improvised as a swing. The ensemble stands out for the dynamism of the figures and the festive expressions that convey spontaneity and joy. The pyramidal composition is balanced through the use of color and atmospheric depth, highlighting the contrast between the figures’ brightly colored clothing and the blue sky that surrounds the scene. This work is part of 19th-century genre painting, in line with the Flemish and French traditions, which focused on everyday life and childhood as its pictorial subject. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
