CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, ND (1910). Tientsin Mint. Hsuan-t'ung

Opulently Vibrant Pattern Dollar from Hsuan-t'ung CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, ND (1910). Tientsin Mint. Hsuan-t'ung (Xuantong [Puyi]). PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details. L&M-24; K-219 = KM; WS-0036; Wenchao-98 (rarity: ★★). Part of an intriguing series of unadopted patterns in which the English denomination is rendered in the form of a Dollar along with its subsequent fractions, with this type even featuring an American Dollar sign ($) in an "old west" square-shaped font. A VERY RARE and desirable issue that, despite its light cleaning as noted, is otherwise without any evidence of circulation or wear. Additionally, some engaging burnished toning is evident at the peripheries and around the devices, elevating its charm and appeal that much more. Estimate: $30,000 - $45,000.
