Exceedingly Important Pattern Dollar Signed by Luigi Giorgi CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, Year 3 (1914). Tientsin Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-58. L&M-67; K-645; KM-Pn31; WS-0169; Wenchao-860 (rarity: ★★★). Variety with "L. GIORGI" signature. A tantalizing opportunity for the advanced collector of the Yuan Shih-kai "big head" series, or republican-era RARITIES more broadly, this near-Mint stunner displays just the slightest degree of light wear across the higher points, with some glints of brilliance among the obverse fields and a somewhat varied nature to the color palette. The strike is full and complete, with particular crispness imparted unto the artist's signature. A tremendous piece given its unblemished nature and status as an elevated survivor. Estimate: $75,000 - $150,000. Provenance: From the Liu Mung Wang (汪柳門) Collection. To view all items from the Liu Mung Wang (汪柳門) Collection, click here.
