CHINA. Sinkiang. Sar (Tael), ND (1910). Urumchi (Tihwa) Mint. Hsuan-t'ung

Pleasingly Struck Late Imperial Sar CHINA. Sinkiang. Sar (Tael), ND (1910). Urumchi (Tihwa) Mint. Hsuan-t'ung (Xuantong [Puyi]). PCGS EF-45. L&M-811; K-1008; KM-Y-7; WS-1304; SGSC-219. Ration coinage. Type without Turki legend on either side. A tremendous survivor of a crown type often plagued by poor strikes and environmental issues. Handsomely toned and with some hints of original brilliance remaining, this example also displays a well detailed dragon--a RARE feat within the coinage of this province. As such, a specimen that should generate much more enthusiasm than its modest designation would otherwise indicate. Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000. Provenance: From the Liu Mung Wang (汪柳門) Collection.
