Chinese Imari - Porcelain - China - Kangxi (1662-1722)

Title Pair of Chinese Imari Porcelain Plates – Kangxi Period – China – Qing Dynasty Description A decorative pair of Chinese porcelain plates, finely painted in the Chinese Imari palette with underglaze cobalt blue, iron red and gilt details. The central decoration depicts a traditional garden scene with flowering peonies, rockwork, a balustrade and a stylised tree. The cavetto and rim are richly decorated with floral motifs and geometric borders. The two plates are closely matched and show the natural individual differences associated with hand-painted decoration. Dating to the Kangxi period (1662–1722), Qing dynasty, China. Dimensions Diameter: approx. 23.5 cm each Condition Overall in good condition considering their age. There are minor chips/nibbles to the rims and normal signs of age and use. No other condition issues are noted from the available photographs. Please examine all photographs carefully before bidding. The photographs are an important and integral part of the description and provide the best indication of the condition of the objects. Shipping The plates will be carefully and securely packed with appropriate protective materials to minimise the risk of damage during transport. The parcel will be shipped with tracking and insurance where available. Due to the fragile nature of antique porcelain, the items will be packed with particular care. A charming and highly decorative pair of Chinese export porcelain plates from the Kangxi period.
