Christofle - Candelabrum Louis XVI Style - Silverplated - Convertible

Christofle – Convertible Silver-Plated Candelabra / Candlestick – France – Louis XVI Style An elegant and highly versatile silver-plated candelabra by the renowned French silversmith Christofle, crafted in France during the second half of the 20th century. This refined model features a clever modular construction allowing it to be displayed either as an impressive three-light candelabrum or as a single candlestick, making it suitable for both intimate dinners and formal table settings. The design is inspired by the refined Louis XVI neoclassical style, characterized by fluted columns, bead borders, delicately scrolling arms, ribbon and garland decoration and a beautifully stepped circular base. The timeless proportions and exceptional craftsmanship reflect the quality for which Christofle has been internationally celebrated since the 19th century. The original Christofle France stamp is present underneath. The silver plating retains an attractive warm patina. Light surface scratches and minor traces of use are visible, entirely consistent with age and careful use. The modular mechanism functions correctly and all components fit securely. A superb decorative centerpiece for a festive dining table, as well as an elegant addition to a collection of fine French silver plate.
