Chrysocolla & Lapis-lazuli – Rosary - Saint Benedict's...

Chrysocolla & Lapis-lazuli – Rosary - Saint Benedict Medal Crucifix – Benedictine Heritage. Rosary with a distinctive character, of singular composition and particularly expressive, made from natural chrysocolla and lapis-lazuli stones. The ensemble is adorned with 73 beads, including many round lapis-lazuli beads in deep blue to midnight blue tones, showing delicate natural variations that give each stone its own identity. The composition is punctuated by remarkable chrysocolla elements, cut into large faceted geometric shapes. Their appearance is especially decorative: the turquoise blue, azure blue and bluish-green nuances are crossed by natural beige, brown and earthy matrices, forming irregular veining and designs unique to each stone. Green rondelle-shaped beads as well as various finely worked golden elements rhythm the whole and create a luminous transition between the deep blue of lapis-lazuli and the bright tones of chrysocolla. This alternation of shapes, volumes and colors gives the rosary an unusual presence: the imposing geometric stones contrast with the regularity of the round beads and lend the piece a sacred, ornamental, and majestic character. At the center of the composition sits a Saint Benedict crucifix, combining a golden structure with the Christ figure in relief in a silvery color. Behind Christ appears the Saint Benedict medal, recognizable by its cross and symbolic inscriptions. It is one of the best-known sacramentals of Benedictine tradition and is traditionally associated with faith, spiritual protection, and resistance against evil. The openwork and trilobed ends of the crucifix, as well as the radiant decoration surrounding the medal, reinforce its religious and solemn character. The contrast between the deep blue of lapis-lazuli, the turquoise nuances of chrysocolla, the green accents, and the shine of the golden elements make for an original rosary, rich in color and symbolism. The nuances, veining, inclusions and irregularities visible are part of the natural aspect of the stones and make each element unique. - Characteristic: Circular length - 52 cm Chrysocolla - 6 beads of geometric shapes - dimension - 20 x 15 mm +/- 2 mm Lapis-lazuli - 54 round beads - diameter - 8 mm Turquoise - 15 cabochon beads - dimension - 8 x 5 mm Saint Benedict Crucifix - Silver-gold alloy - dimension - 56 x 32 x 4 mm Weight - 126.71 g Carefully handmade. To know: - Chrysocolla, Chrysocolla is a copper-bearing mineral known since Antiquity, whose name comes from the Greek chrysos (“gold”) and kolla (“glue”), in reference to its historic use in gold working. It is distinguished by remarkable nuances of turquoise blue, azure blue and green, often traversed by brown, beige or grayish matrices. Each stone thus presents naturally different patterns and veinings. In lithotherapy traditions, chrysocolla is associated with calm, harmony, communication and inner balance. It also symbolizes serenity and wisdom. - Lapis-lazuli, Lapis-lazuli is an ornamental stone used for millennia. Highly prized in antiquity, it was used across many civilizations for making jewelry, amulets and prestige objects. Its characteristic color ranges from ultramarine to deep blue, sometimes punctuated by lighter inclusions or small golden flecks of pyrite. Traditionally, lapis-lazuli is associated with wisdom, truth, intuition and spiritual elevation. In lithotherapy, it is also considered a stone that fosters expression, confidence and inner clarity. The union of chrysocolla and lapis-lazuli here creates a particularly expressive harmony between turquoise tones and deep blue. Symbolically, their pairing evokes wisdom, serenity, truth and spiritual elevation—values that naturally align with the religious character of the rosary and the protective symbolism of Saint Benedict. - Shipping: Will be carefully protected and packaged to guarantee shipment in optimal conditions.
