Descriptio Oil on copper. Cabinet devotional painting belonging to the Antwerp tradition of collaborative floral wreaths, developed at the beginning of the 17th century. The wreath, executed with great botanical precision and decorative flair, is arranged around a central scene with the Virgin and Child accompanied by Saint Dominic, iconography closely linked to the devotion of the Rosary in the context of the Counter-Reformation. The copper support, common in high-quality works, provides a smooth surface that intensifies the luminosity and chromatic richness. The composition combines technical refinement, formal balance, and profound symbolic weight, constituting an excellent example of early Baroque Flemish painting. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
