CLARETIE (Jules). *La Cigarette*. Paris, Printed for A. Girard, n.d. [1906]. Large 8vo, brown morocco leather, covers adorned with a large Renaissance-style frame decorated with three interlacing mosaic bands forming curves, spine similarly decorated, inner arabesque border, chocolate-colored moiré endpapers and lining decorated with a scattered pattern, gilt edges, untrimmed, cover and spine, slipcase and case (Canape R. D. 1908). Illustrations by Henri-Zo. Printed in an edition of 135 copies; this one is among the first 10 on old Japanese paper, with a separately printed set of woodcuts. Attractive Canape binding. Included is an autograph letter from Jules Claretie (one page, in-12 format), dated 1912 and addressed to a dear and charming colleague in bibliophilia, concerning his book and a certain Miss Lucile Dora.
