Classic Vintage 1.02 ct Diamond Solitaire Ring in White Gold, c. 1975

‘Even if the preferred gemstones change and only after years celebrate their resurrection as the ladies' favourite - the brilliant has never lost its position, evenly as its impeccably clear fire it outlasts all currents of fashion. It is therefore understandable that so many people secretly desire rings with diamonds...’ (From a jewellery brochure of the 1930s) The diamond solitaire is one of the most beautiful forms a ring can take. Centred on a single, large diamond, it presents us with sparkling light. Usually set in a simple, narrow ring band, it is not distracting in everyday life, can be easily combined with many other pieces of jewellery and is also comfortable to wear. This ring features a sparkling brilliant-cut diamond in its centre. The stone, weighing 1.02 carats, sparkles in a discreet prong setting and is toned with good clarity. Its cut suggests that it was cut in the second half of the 20th century. The 18-karat white gold ring is a classic engagement ring. We discovered it in Berlin.
