Coalport porcelain Porter Mug, John Holmes Smith, 1820.

A fine and rare Coalport porcelain Porter Mug, dated 1820. The large mug with a blue ground, and finely painted by John Holmes Smith, with a scene of a man hunting deer, in an extensive landscape, within a gilt panel. Having an acanthus leaf moulded handle, heightened in gilt. Inscribed ‘JB’ monogram to the interior. Signed ‘J.H. Holmes, 1820’, to the panel.
