Coastal scene with net. Rodríguez San Clement - Spanish School. 20th century

Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 80 x 60 cm (103 x 83 cm with frame). This composition depicts a Mediterranean beach, where two women seated mend fishing nets while children play in the sand. The scene is bathed in clear light that effortlessly models the figures. The beached boat and traditional clothing reinforce the genre’s feel. The loose brushstrokes and warm colors place the work within the tradition of Spanish Luminism. Signed by J. Ribera, this painting engages with the figurative tradition of coastal themes, closely associated with the Valencian school.
