Vintage Umbertine-era wall-mounted coat rack, with an upper hat shelf, in dark wood, in a classical/Renaissance style but dating to the late 19th century, with carved and relief-carved friezes and decorations, six pegs; with moulded panels and turned hooks, from Italy ms. cm. 31 x 158 x 13 cm. In excellent condition (see photos) Visual features: Dark wood finish, moulded geometric decorations and a set of six turned wooden hooks aligned horizontally. * Style: It has a classic and traditional appearance, similar to furnishings from the late 19th to early 20th centuries * Period: 19th Century - from 1801 to 1900: the construction features of the piece are consistent with the late 19th century or, at the latest, the early 20th century (Umbertine style / late Italian Historicism). * The turned knobs: The typical baluster shape of the wooden hooks is a classic element of late 19th-century Italian cabinet-making. * The decorations and mouldings: The carved lower cornice and the raised geometric details on the sides echo the eclectic and Renaissance style that was very fashionable at that time. * The back of the piece: The rough appearance of the wood on the back, the old dowel joints and the original metal fixing hooks indicate period craftsmanship. Due to its age and wear and tear, this item requires minor, non-essential restoration work and a re-polish. We endeavour to present the actual condition of the piece as fully as possible through the photographs. Should any details not be clear from the photographs, the information provided in the description shall prevail.
