US artist and illustrator Haddon Hubbard “Sunny” Sundblom, famous for his Santa Claus illustrations for the Coca-Cola Company. The “Sprite Boy” bust-style piggy bank is based on a famous Coca-Cola advertising figure designed in 1942 for this company. It is an elf- or goblin-like boy with white hair and rosy cheeks, depicted only from the shoulders up and often wearing a hat/cap shaped like a Coca-Cola crown cap. Made of heavy cast iron (often polychromed and hand-painted), in good condition for its age with visible signs of wear. A key for this piggy bank is almost always missing, but you can simply use a flathead screwdriver or similar to pry the iron lid open beneath. A rare find, high collector value, vintage object with a pleasing patina. Images are part of the condition, colors and objectivity. Colors may vary due to lighting when photographing.
