Offered is this beautiful and extremely elegant antique living-room or center table from the mid-19th century (ca. 1850), made in the rich Louis Philippe / Biedermeier style. The piece immediately stands out for its unique, curving "violin-shaped" or "biscuit" tabletop. The top features a splendid mirrored veneer pattern with a deep, warm wood grain that beautifully catches the daylight. The table rests on a very robust and richly decorated central pedestal (column foot), which transitions into four gracefully carved caster feet with characteristic Baroque scroll and carving elements. This model was used at the time to adorn the gentlemen's rooms or salons of wealthy families. Today it is a fantastic character piece that fits perfectly in a classic, eclectic, or modern hotel-chic interior.
