Colima Pottery Standing Nude Female Figure

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima. A hand-modeled pottery figure of a standing nude woman with an elongated body. The head is capped by a rounded headdress or coiffure, framing a long face with eyes, a straight nose, and a small open mouth. A necklace with two round pendants circles the neck. The long, slender arms bend inward so the hands meet at the waist, above full hips and thighs and long, tapering legs. The surface is finished in reddish-brown slip with mottled buff and golden-tan areas. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. Item # 205647
