Collection of international maritime-themed philatelic items, including first day covers (FDCs), maximum cards, and vintage postcards. The group features a strong thematic focus on ships, maritime history, and lighthouses from diverse regions including East Germany (DDR), Israel, West Germany (DE), the USSR, and Japan. Notable items include a series of four East German maximum cards featuring vessels MS Volkerfreundschaft, MS Bautzen, MS Riesa, and MS Fritz Heckert, each with matching stamps and Warnem¼nde 1972 pictorial cancellations. Also featured is a group of Israeli maximum cards and FDCs with graphic modernist lighthouse and ship designs from the late 1950s. Additional items include commemorative German covers for Albert Ballin (1857-1918) with Hamburg 1957 postmarks, a souvenir cover for the Israeli liner SS Shalom, and vintage postcards with handwritten correspondence and international postmarks, such as a Japanese steamer card for Nippon Yusen Kaisha and an early 20th-century card sent Via Siberia to London.
