COLLECTION OF SELJUK / ILKHANID LAMPS AND VESSELS

Ca. AD 1200 - 1300 A group of five metal objects comprising a pedestal oil lamp with a projecting spout and curved handle, a baluster-shaped footed vessel, a pierced chalice on a high foot, and two Seljuk ewers. The larger ewer has a rounded body on a flared foot, a narrow neck and an elongated projecting mouth; the smaller has a pear-shaped body and a similarly projecting mouth. Both are fitted with slender curved handles and bear engraved decoration on the body. Size: 150-240mm x 110-150mm; Weight: 2.8kg Provenance: Private London collection; ex French art market, 1990s.
