The Rarest and Most Distinctive Structures in Gemmology — This specimen is a very rare section of Trapiche emerald, one of the most fascinating and sought-after structures in the entire gemmology world. Originating from the historic mines of Colombia, it is characterized by its six black-ray pattern radiating from the center like the spokes of a wheel or the petals of a stylized flower: a unique natural phenomenon, impossible to replicate artificially with the complexity and fineness of the original veining. The Trapiche emerald forms within hydrothermal deposits rich in carbonate and black shales. During crystal growth, the presence of carbon inclusions interferes with the gem's hexagonal crystallization. This process causes a “separation” of growth into six distinct sectors, divided by ultra-thin dark “barriers” composed of shale residues. The result is an astonishing structure, the compact black center, rich in natural carbon. Six translucent green arms of emerald in pure form, radiating outward following the hexagonal symmetry of the crystal. Dark separation lines, marks of layering and natural growth interference in mineral formation. Extremely Rare - Trapiche Colombian Emerald Gem Quality AAA Colombian emerald Trapiche.
