Colombian Trapiche Emerald - The Rarest and Most...

This specimen is a very rare section of Trapiche emerald, one of the most fascinating and sought-after structures in the entire gemmological world. From the historic mines of Colombia, it is characterized by its six black-ray motifs radiating from the center like the spokes of a wheel or the petals of a stylized flower: a unique natural phenomenon, impossible to replicate artificially with the complexity and fineness of the original veining. The Trapiche emerald forms within hydrothermal deposits rich in carbonate and black schists. During the crystal’s growth, the presence of carbon inclusions interferes with the gem’s hexagonal crystallization. This process causes a “separation” of growth into six distinct sectors, divided by very fine dark “barriers” composed of schist residues. The result is a stunning structure, the compact black center, rich in natural carbon. Six translucent green arms of pure emerald radiate outward following the crystal’s hexagonal symmetry. Dark separation lines, marks of layering and natural growth interference in mineral formation. Extremely Rare - Colombian Emerald Trapiche Gem Quality AAA Colombian Emerald Trapiche emerald.
