Dresser with a hidden mirror (toilette) integrated inside a three-piece sideboard. Extremely distinctive structure, as it combines the functionality of bedroom furniture with that of living-room furniture. Hidden mirror: the upper panel lifts up on a hinge to reveal the inset mirror. When closed, the surface returns to a perfectly flat plane. The surface features a decorative finish created with an ancient Tuscan patina technique, with antique-tinted lacquer in green-blue tones and traces of faux wear. Round metal hardware and fittings in burnished metal, typical of late 19th-century furniture and the first half of the 20th century. The mirror is raised by flat metal arms, hinged in the middle. The flip-up is in Butler style. The groove in the wood intended to house the metal pin is rough and irregular, a characteristic of artisanal workmanship: there are no clean, perfect cuts typical of industrial machines. The hardware bears a dense patina of dark oxidation. The piece has been completely reimagined and updated in its look, the result of careful material upcycling.
