Commodes with Inlays and Decorative Bronzes – Napoleon III Style with Louis XV Influences Important commode in Napoleon III style, with Louis XV influences, characterized by an elegant veneered work in Bois de Violette and rich decorative bronze applications. The structure features a refined undulating and curved front, enhanced by a distinctive arrangement of wood grain with geometric herringbone and mirror motifs, which enhance the warm tones of the wood essence. The piece is equipped with two wide stacked drawers, both decorated with elaborate bronze applications in floral motifs, swirls and curls, which harmoniously follow the sinuous lines of the structure. The lock escutcheons, also finely worked, complete the elegant ornamental composition. The upper top is made of dark marble with strong white veining, shaped along the front profile and finished with a molded edge. The side uprights present a curved and sloping line, enriched by additional bronze decorations, while the lower part is characterized by a shaped apron with a prominent central ornament. The chest rests on four curved legs, the front ones enriched with decorative metal applications. The rear features a simple wooden structure, with superficial marks compatible with use and the passage of time. An item of great elegance and scenic presence, characterized by the contrast between the precious wood grain, the bronze decorations, and the refined marble top, ideal for salons, entrances, or interiors furnished with antique-style pieces.
