Contemporary Architectural ornament (2) - Patrini -Milano...

Giovanni Patrini (Milan, 20th century) – Pair of decorative obelisks, 1987. Wood painted to resemble malachite with ornately molded black bases. Signed and dated under the base of one of the two, “Patrini, Milan, 1987.” H 43 cm; base 11.5 × 11.5 cm. A rare example of Milanese postmodern decorative production from the 1980s, characterized by the illusory use of surfaces inspired by marbles and hardstones. Overall good condition, with minimal signs of wear consistent with the age.
