Contemporary Platinum Ring with 6.75 ct Vintage Brilliant, c. 1960 & later

A diamond ring like this large solitaire is all about emotions. If it is given as an engagement ring, it marks the end of a series of dreamy excursions into the realm of fantasy that once began with the first toy ring as a child. If, on the other hand, you give the diamond to yourself as a gift for a very personal occasion, it will always remind you of this special moment, which can always be recreated in your memory when your gaze is lost in the sparkle and glitter of the stone. Beyond dreams lie the facts. This ring holds a diamond weighing an impressive 6.75 carats in its center. Its color is warm-toned, its clarity is first-class: The diamond has been classified by an independent institute with a clarity grade of "vsi2", meaning it has inclusions that are difficult to see with a magnifying glass. What is most impressive, however, is the appearance of the stone in sunlight. It emits hundreds of sparks, some white, some in the colors of the rainbow. It is a joy to look at. Based on the proportions of the cut, we assume that the diamond was cut in the first decades after the Second World War. The stone is a little flatter than modern full-cut diamonds and therefore appears even larger than a stone of more than six carats already is. As a beautiful detail, the girdle is also faceted: With most diamonds in the past, these have only been rubbed, i.e. left rough. Here, however, the additional facets around the stone further enhance the play of light. The diamond is set in platinum. Six airy prongs hold the diamond securely and allow maximum light to enter. The setting was added to the diamond at a later date. An independent appraisal from 2021 is included with the ring.
