Cooper, Texas. $20 1902 Date Back. Fr. 645. First NB. Charter #4500.

Cooper, Texas. $20 1902 Date Back. Fr. 645. First NB. Charter #4500. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. A solid note in both technical terms and eye appeal. Bidders are nonetheless faced with something that makes the two aforementioned qualities immaterial when examined in numismatic terms. Part of a population of only eight non-institutional notes recorded on the First National Bank of Cooper (Charter# 4500) by the National Bank Note Census, this example is unique for the type being the only recorded Series of 1902 Date Back recorded here regardless of the denomination. Further held against the fact that Plain Backs issued after the expiration of Aldrich-Vreeland in 1915 account for the bulk of recorded survivors on this tough charter makes this a truly exceptional opportunity for the specialist determined to build a monumental collection of Texas Nationals in the vein of Copeland. Estimate: $1,250 - $1,750. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.

Estimate:£560.64
