Original Coquillor butter dish in silvered metal, France. Marketed in several forms up to the 1970s, this is here the first original model from the 1950s featuring a scallop shell. An iconic accessory of the era's tables, it allows butter to be presented as pretty shavings or “scalloped” shells. It consists of three parts: the base, its lid (with a rubber gasket) and the upper part which forms the butter pieces. The base could hold ice to keep the butter cool. Then turn the upper part over, fill it with butter and place it back on the base. Gently press to release the nicely sculpted shavings. The butter dish is generally in good condition, with some scratches, marks and signs of wear. Please refer also to the photos, which are an integral part of the description. Original model, signed beneath the mark COQUILLOR-GLACE, SGDG patent, Made in France, marks of the silvered metal, Registered design. A timeless classic that catches the eye, enduring and very elegant. Packaging will be careful and shipping fast. Dispatch can be made to EU countries in a tracked parcel.
