Coronet "3-D" Stereo Camera (Made in England

Overview and Artistic Concept: We propose at auction an extraordinary and exclusive reinterpretation of the famous stereoscopic camera Coronet "3-D", produced in England (Birmingham) during the 1950s. The object has undergone a process of conceptual and stylistic reinterpretation, designed to pay homage both to the British stereoscopic photography’s golden era and to its place of origin. After careful research among various design options, a design was developed that blends the original bakelite industrial aesthetics with iconic period motifs. Details of the restoration and innovative materials: The central body of the camera is embellished with a special panoramic coating that depicts era-accurate scenes of London in the 1950s: Big Ben, Westminster, the typical double-decker buses (Routemaster) on the bridge, and views of the Thames near St. Paul’s Cathedral. The black-and-white pattern dialogue perfectly with the mottled/speckled bakelite finish typical of English Coronet cameras. Coating in innovative technical material: to ensure maximum durability and usability, the finish has been protected with a high-performance technical material, specially designed for tactile feel and comfort. It offers a pleasant, warm, and ergonomic tactile sensation. Wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, and resistant to oily/greasy solutions (fingerprints, skin oils). Usability Enhanced: Protects the surface, allowing practical and safe use of the device without risking damage to the custom graphics. Technical specifications: Brand: Coronet Camera Co. Model: "3-D" (Stereoscopic camera with two lenses) Origin: England (Birmingham) Original production year: Circa 1953-1954 Film format: 127 rollfilm (shoots pairs of stereoscopic images) Aesthetic condition: fair / One-of-a-kind Custom Art Design piece. Mechanical condition: Shutter and "PRESET" shutter selector functioning. (The mechanisms fire normally; however, it is recommended for use as both a display piece for collectors and for experimental photography). The front lenses’ glass is not present."}
