Refined and rare handcrafted altar/table crucifix, finely inlaid with mother-of-pearl and ivory tiles, with carved, pierced, and engraved details. The cross features an elaborate decorative structure with pierced and floral motifs at the ends and a central mother-of-pearl radiating hub. On the front part of the shaft and arms, inlays and engravings with floral and phytomorphic motifs recall the ebony-style of the 20th century. The stepped base is also fully covered and decorated in mother-of-pearl. The Christ of the Plague, or a stylized and sorrowful figure, is cast in bronze (or patinated metal) with a dark original patina, characterized by essential features, a lean torso, and relief work, placed on the stand with great expressiveness. The back of the crucifix shows the wooden supporting structure shaped and stained. A piece of strong decorative impact and for collectors, ideal for lovers of sacred art, antique devotional objects, and mother-of-pearl artistic works.
