An old and elegant silvered metal altar crucifix, probably dating from the early 20th century, around 1900–1920. The crucifix features a detailed depiction of Christ on the Cross, surrounded by rich vegetal decor composed of leaves and branches. The cross bears a wood-like pattern as well as a cartouche INRI in its upper part. The whole rests on an imposing pedestal richly worked in the Baroque/Rococo style, adorned with volutes, floral motifs and foliage. The base rests on four bowed feet. The construction is hollow, typical of decorative and religious objects made in molded and silvered metal from this period. The Cross is assembled to the base by mechanical fastenings. A beautiful antique religious object, particularly decorative, which may have been intended for an altar, a private chapel, or for domestic devotion. Dimensions: Height: 38.5 cm Width: 15 cm Weight: 859 g Condition: Good general antique condition. Presence of patina, small traces of oxidation, wear and marks corresponding to age and use. Please study the photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description. Careful packaging and tracked shipping.
