All auctions / Silver & Gold / Cutlery set (3) - Silverplated - Antique Silver-Plated

Elegant collection of three antique silver-plated serving pieces, comprising a large decorative serving dish, an engraved fish server and a three-pronged carving fork. The serving dish and fish server date from circa 1890 and feature elaborate late 19th-century decoration. The large oval serving dish has an extensively decorated border with floral and scrolling ornaments, openwork handles and a beautifully shaped central bowl. Its substantial size and richly worked decoration make it an impressive table or display piece. The fish server is particularly attractive, featuring a large shaped blade finely engraved with fish and scrolling foliate decoration. The ornate handle complements the elaborate character of the piece. The three-pronged carving fork is decorated with an elaborate relief handle and finger guard. The handle bears an “800” marking and additional symbols, visible in the photographs. The fork is included and offered as silver-plated metal; no claim of solid silver is made. The three pieces are offered together as a decorative collection and are not represented as an originally matching set.
