D. Witschkanow - ► „The Divide Within - Black Lips“ № I

►“The Divide Within” – Original painting Originales, handgefertigtes Gemälde von Daniel Witschkanow, 2026 Beschreibung “The Divide Within” is an expressive, monochrome portrait that explores human identity between order and chaos, control and inner tornness. From countless black strands of color a fragmented face emerges, with its distinct eyes and lips rising from a complex network of abstract lines. What is particularly fascinating is the asymmetrical design of the two halves of the face. While one eye remains clearly visible, the other almost disappears behind dense black color structures. The powerful condensations contrast with delicate, curved lines that span across the entire canvas. The work merges expressive portraiture with abstract dynamism and invites contemplation of the multifaceted nature of the human personality. Über das Bild “The Divide Within” symbolizes the inner contradictions of man. The entwined lines stand metaphorically for thoughts, memories, and emotions that shape our identity. The partially hidden face illustrates the tension between what we show to the outside world and what remains deeply hidden inside us. Despite the seemingly chaotic structures, a recognizable human visage emerges. The work conveys the idea that it is precisely our contradictions, vulnerability, and imperfection that define our individuality. Technik The painting was created with Daniel Witschkanow’s characteristic thread technique. The facial features are not produced by traditional brushstrokes, but by flowing, overlapping strands of paint made of acrylic paint and painting medium. Delicate lines and strong color condensations create intense contrasts and sculptural textures. The interplay of controlled randomness and deliberate composition lends the work its distinctive dynamism and a unique surface effect. The monochrome color scheme emphasizes the expressive line work and merges figurative representation with experimental abstract painting.
