Dame Constance Maude Fraser CBE (1863-1937) - India: Nanga Parbat; Srinigar Spring; Kashmir ('View From Our Camp On Our Last Tour. A Lovely Camp 1915'); [Kashmir] Valley; The Glacier [Kashmir] 1913, five, watercolour, 34.5 x 24.5cm and various sizes Provenance: The artist; her daughter Constance Maud Stuart Thornton nee Fraser (1893-1964) of Brockhall Hall, Northamptonshire; thence by descent to the present vendor A keen amateur watercolourist, Dame Constance Maude Fraser spent much time in India, accompanying her husband Sir Stuart Mitford Fraser KCSI, CIE (1864-1963) on his travels. A distinguished officer in the Indian Civil Service, Sir Stuart was tutor to a succession of Indian princes, notably Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV (1884-1940), the 24th Maharajah of Mysore (r.1902-1940).
