of elliptical form, the pitted manganese exterior with sgraffito decoration, with an off-white interior, impressed maker's mark, impressed maker's mark, 30cm wide, 11cm deep, 11cm high, Private Collection, London; The collection of the late Eric Yates-Owen, who wrote the book on Studio Pottery marks. The bowl was one of a number he purchased from Phillips, Bath in a sale 12th February 1996 when they dispersed the collection of the artists Robin and Heather Tanner, the former who was a friend of both Bernard Leach and Hans Coper. Some crazing and irregularities to the glaze There appears to be some restoration to one edge; however, there is no signs of fluorescence under UV examination. Overall, the lot presents well.
