An expressive and colorful Indonesian ritual/dance mask with long, hanging hairs made of natural fibers. The mask is hand-carved from wood and decorated with striking, large round eyes, a broad smile with visible teeth and stylized polychrome painting in blue, green, pink and yellow. The edges of the mask are finished all around with a braiding that the long fiber hair emerges from. At the back the artisanal bevel finish is clearly visible, as well as a string to hang the mask on the wall. Condition: In good condition with light, authentic signs of aging. The wood and painting show a light patina and mild wear around the eye rims that suit the age and handmade character of the piece. The fiber hair is intact.
